I had a two day work conference/training event/team building thing to go to up in San Francisco. No, not some awful (and cheap) de-meowing process at the vet. I ordered her a timed feeding bowl. For ages she's been driving me insane with meowing nonstop for an hour or more before it's time to feed her. Literally nonstop meowing, over and over, for more than an hour. Ugh. It's 2 AM, I haven't slept a moment tonight, and I doubt that will change for the rest of the night. On Friday I pulled some muscle along/between my ribs. On Saturday, I finished up my housework by taking the trash out. The trees around my apartment drop these horrible seed(?) things: Big balls the size of a ping pong ball, covered in spikes. They're so big and hard, you can feel them as you drive over them. Stepping on them isn't a good idea ( Read more... )

Oh the joys of ingrown toenails. After having my toenail removed five or six times, my podiatrist decided we should remove it permanently. Unfortunately that's a bigger deal than just removing it -- actual surgery (outpatient). They have to cut into the bone itself to kill the nail bed so it won't grow back. Stitches after, all that. In other, less fun news, I got my toenail cut off today. All of it. Six months ago they cut off a quarter, three months ago another quarter, today all of it. Boy does it hurt. Unfortunately it will grow back, so this might not even be the end ( Read more... )

What a way to spend a day off from work. Was pretty sure I had an infection in my toe (I keep getting ingrown toenails), so went to the walk in clinic. He sent me off to the podiatry department. The bad thing: Somehow I broke a tooth. How the heck does that even happen? I was eating lunch, thought I hit a bit of bone in my meat, but didn't check (spit it into napkin and tossed it).
